District 191 students are winners of third-grade essay contest sponsored by City of Burnsville

Three students from Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District 191 are winners of an essay contest sponsored by the city of Burnsville and TruStone Financial Credit Union.

Third-grade students were invited to respond to the prompt: “I love Burnsville because … .”

Congratulations to this year's third-grade essay winners and their teachers:

First-place winners are:

• Mumtaz, Gideon Pond Elementary – Mrs. Andrea Traetow
• Fiona, Gideon Pond Elementary – Ms. Susan Zucollo
• Sander, Gideon Pond Elementary – Ms. Susan Zucollo and Ms. Emily Tucker

TruStone Financial Credit Union also awarded three Honorable Mentions:

• Grace, Gideon Pond Elementary – Mrs. Andrea Traetow
• Vaughn, Gideon Pond Elementary – Mrs. Andrea Traetow
• Ariadne, William Byrne Elementary – Ms. Susan Zucollo

The Burnsville City Council, along with TruStone Financial Credit Union Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Marty Kelly, reviewed entries and selected the winners. 

The three winning students read their essays aloud at the Burnsville City Council meeting on June 4.
