Safe Learning Plan

In response to new guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District 191 is making changes to its Safe Learning Plan for COVID-19.

We continue to ask everyone to use common courtesy health measures like washing your hands, covering your cough, and staying home when you are sick. Just like other illnesses, you must be fever-free for 24 hours without the use of  medication and have improvement of symptoms to return to school.

Updates to District 191 Safe Learning Plan policies and procedures:

  • A five-day quarantine is no longer required after a positive test.

  • A masking period is no longer required after a positive test.

  • There is no testing, masking or quarantining required for close contacts.

  • The MDH free COVID-19 at-home test ordering program has ended. We will no longer supply COVID-19 test kits from our offices. Self-tests can be bought at your local pharmacy or at other retail stores.

The changes to CDC guidance for schools are based on the following criteria: fewer hospitalizations and deaths from COVID-19, the availability of vaccines and effective treatments, and high levels of immunity within the population. If you have any questions, contact your school health professional.
